Project: Dances of Life

For nearly 50,000 years, dances and songs have been an expression of Pacific Islanders' origins, their journeys, their sense of self–their very existence. Dances of Life documents how dance helps the dancers and their audiences maintain their identity and traditions in the face of modernity.

Narrated by Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider). Shot on location in New Zealand, New Caledonia, Palau, Guam and American Samoa for PBS broadcast.
